Easy homemade liquid hand soap

If you are like me, then hand soap disappears quick in your house lol! I have a toddler that thinks it is fun to waste the expensive liquid soap so…..I said bye-bye expensive store brand and hello homemade. It is easy to do. All you need is a pan old clean milk jug, water, glycerin, and a cheap bar of soap. I also use essential oils to add a nice scent.

1 Tablespoon glycerin (you can usually find this near the pharmacy department at the store)

10 cups water ( I prefer reverse osmosis water but any will work)

1 cup soap flakes ( i run it through a food processor…I AM NOT shredding it by hand lol…but you can! lol)

5-10 drops of your favorite essential oil

a funnel so that you can pour soap in milk jug when it is cool

Melt soap in water on medium low until all soap flakes melt. Add glycerin and essential oil. Let cool. When soap is at room temperature pour it through funnel into the milk jug! See easy as pie!!! make sure to label milk jug so you remember what is in it!!

Homemade finger paints

I was looking for great ideas for kids and came across this great recipe! Homemade finger paint!

3 tbs sugar
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 cup corn starch
2 cups water

Combine ingredients in small sauce pan on warm until mixture becomes thick. Cool and pour into separate containers and let cool. Then add food coloring.

Cheese crackers

My husband has given up carbs and I know that had to be hard. So I thought, how can I make a cracker that has no carbs or at least low carbs. BINGO! Homemade cheese crackers. Easy to make and taste great!

You will need-

1- greased cooking sheet or wax paper to put on cookie sheet

1-16oz bag cheddar cheese shredded

1- container Parmesan cheese

Sprinkle a bit of of your cheeses on pan. It should be about size of quarter. Or little bigger. You can combine cheeses for any flavor you want. Parmesan is used with other cheeses.

Broil on low for ten minutes or bake in oven at 350 degrees for ten minutes or until golden brown. Let cool and enjoy!

1- 16oz bag mozzarella shredded

Gluten Free cloud bread!

This is actually from pinterest But I love it and wanted to share. There are so many people trying to cut down on the gluten or that just simply can’t have it. So I wanted to share this recipe. You can find it at www.food.com under carb free cloud bread.  The recipe was posted by Gillian Spence.

3- Eggs, seperated

3- Tablespoons whole milk cottage cheese or 3 tablespoons cream cheese ( I prefer organic )

1/4 teaspoon cream of tarter

1 packet artificial sweetener. ( I prefer truvia, which is natural but will still give you that sweet taste)

Cooking-

Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Seperate the eggs very carefully. You cannot have yolk in the whites or it wont come out right. In one bowl mix the egg yolks, the 3T of cottage cheese, and the one packet sweetener until smooth. In other bowel add cream of tarter to the egg whites and beat on high speen until they are fluffy and form nice peaks. Very cafefully fold the egg yolk mixture into the egg whites until mixed.  Try not to break down the fluffiness of the egg whites too much. Spray two cookie sheets with Pam or put olive oil on a paper towel and wipe down cookie sheets. With large sppon scoop the mixture into 10 even rounds on the sheets. they should be about the size of hamburger buns. Bake on the middle rack. Make sure to watch them because baking time may not be the same on every batch. It is somewhere around 1/2 hour, but could be more or less. You need them a nice golden brown. Remove form oven. place cloud breads on cooling rack or cutting board until. Once cool store in container over night. The next day they will be like a nice soft bread!

I hope this recipe helps out my gluten free buddies! Also here is my favorite peanut butter gluten free cookie!!

1 cup peanut butter

1 cup sugar

1 egg

Mix all together and bake on greesed cookie sheet or 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees. I will alos buy gluten free chocolate and melt it and dip the cookies in the choclate. I then let the cookies cool and that will also allow chocolate to harden back up!! They taste great and are so easy to make!!

Homemade laundry soap!

Yes I know there are tons of recipes out there but thought I would share one of my favorites! I have been using this mixture for years. I tried doing the liquid and realized I wanted something easier. So this is the recipe I use for a dry detergent.

1- Box of Borox

1- Box of Arm and Hammer Washing Soda (not the same as baking soda. You can find this in laundry aisle)

1- 4 lb Box of Arm and Hammer Baking soda.

2- Bars Fels-Naptha soap shredded in food processor

I mix all ingredients together. Make sure soap is ground into very fine pieces. I use 2 table spoons for every load.

Update: After I wrote this I was looking up recipes online to see if there was an even easier way to make laundry soap (lol) and came across this website. Please check it out! I also love that she puts it in a nice glass jar to store it!!!

www.beingcreativetokeepmysanity.blogspot.com Her recipe is very close to mine but she adds another bar of soap and 2 containers oxy clean!! Great idea! I love momma’s who think the same way I do!!! Way to be awesome!!!

Homemade Butter that was Actually made at HOME!

I love fresh bread and butter! However, I find that fresh butter is hard to come by. Or is it? Well not any more! It is so easy to make fresh butter right at home. All you need is:

Organic Heavy Whipping Cream
1 stand mixer (Love my Kitchen Aid lol)
splash guard because it could get messy!

Put about 4 cups cream in you mixing bowl and mix on high until it thickens. Scrape cream off side of bowl. Turn mixer back on high and mix until whey separates from butter. When butter is formed squeeze out all extra whey and set aside. Put butter in a glass container (better for you than plastic). Also save the whey because you can use in place of buttermilk in recipes!

*Make sure to use butter within two weeks. You may lightly salt it during the beginning process if you wish. I have also added pictures of heavy cream and margarine so that you can see the difference in ingredients! You will be surprised!
